1. Introduction

The Bypass Conductor for tank lightning protection is designed to discharge the static electricity of floating roof storage tanks. It is used as the equipotential bonding between the floating roof and tank shell. The lightning current and bound charge will be effectively and rapidly dissipated to the earth upon a lightning strike. Compared with the conventional bypass conductor, it will effectively decrease the possibility of a lightning-induced fire, and make it more reliable and safe.

Our Retractable Grounding Reel had upgraded. There are several major advantages after the upgraded:

1. Replace the spring steel spring to 301 SS spring, which has a longer service life and better performance of corrosion resistance.

2. We optimize the structure and make it a fully sealed structure, without water inlet.

3. An additional bearing is added for smoother and more reliable operation.

4. High copper carbon brush is used for the flow guide, which has better flow guide performance.

5. Housing thickness increased from 1.2mm to 2.0mm, which is more stable and reliable.

6. A cable stop is added to prevent weakening of pretension.
